March 19, 2026 - March 29, 2026

Join Dan’s Dive Shop as we Return to Truk Lagoon

In March 2016 Matt and a group of adventurous DDS Divers made the journey to Truk Lagoon, Micronesia to explore this top bucket list destination and we’ve been wanting to return ever since.

The remote location and stunning historical wrecks make this dive trip a must-see destination for any true avid wreck diver. Join us and an amazing group of divers for this excellent adventure diving in Chuuk (Truk Lagoon).

The aftermath of Pearl Harbour is all on display underwater here. We will explore the sunken Japanese fleet from Operation Hailstone the iconic air and sea battle of Truk Lagoon. World class wreck diving.

In World War II the Japanese fleet used Truk as one of their main staging points for attacks on the allied forces. In 1944 the American led “Operation Hailstone” surprised the fleet resulting in numerous wrecks today.

There are collections of historical artifacts like medicine bottles, newspapers, instruments of war, which include aircraft wings for the Japanese Zero Fighter planes, tanks, guns, gas masks, and ammunition. Whilst the wrecks themselves are encrusted with corals, you can still clearly see telegraphs, steering columns and mounted guns.

Fujikawa Maru A 430ft long wreck with a lot to explore. Depth starting at 110ft rising to 15ft from the surface.

Shinkoku Maru Sitting at a depth range from 32ft to 125ft, this vessel participated in the Pearl Harbour.

Suzuki Destroyer Best known for its engine room and gas masks. Depth range 10ft – 50ft.

Nippo Maru Packed WWII artifacts including a tank, a truck, gas masks, ammo, guns, mines, shell casings and many marine inhabitants. Depth from 90ft to 155ft.

Heian Maru At 510ft long this is the largest vessel on the lagoon. She lies on her port side in 150ft of water.

San Francisco Maru At 195ft deep some great relics including tanks, mines, trucks, bombs, depth charges and much more.

Hoki Maru Visible construction gear aboard. Depth range 50ft-80ft.

Rio de Janeiro Maru Depth of 110ft with huge guns, massive diesel engine with ample supply of Saki, china and ammunition.

Bombers, Fighters and Flying Boats Scattered aircraft throughout Truk Lagoon.

Blue Lagoon Dive Shop is Truk’s first and most experienced dive shop with qualified Chuukese guides who know the wrecks extremely well.  Air, Nitrox TriMix and Mixed Gas are all available for recreational divers to the experienced TEK & CCR divers.  All wrecks are boat diving from Weno island.
