March 19, 2026 - March 29, 2026

Join Dan’s Dive Shop as we Return to Truk Lagoon

In March 2016 Matt and a group of adventurous DDS Divers made the journey to Truk Lagoon, Micronesia to explore this top bucket list destination and we’ve been wanting to return ever since.

The remote location and stunning historical wrecks make this dive trip a must-see destination for any true avid wreck diver. Join us and an amazing group of divers for this excellent adventure diving in Chuuk (Truk Lagoon).

OPERATION HAILSTORM

The aftermath of Pearl Harbour is all on display underwater here. We will explore the sunken Japanese fleet from Operation Hailstone the iconic air and sea battle of Truk Lagoon. World class wreck diving.

In World War II the Japanese fleet used Truk as one of their main staging points for attacks on the allied forces. In 1944 the American led “Operation Hailstone” surprised the fleet resulting in numerous wrecks today.

There are collections of historical artifacts like medicine bottles, newspapers, instruments of war, which include aircraft wings for the Japanese Zero Fighter planes, tanks, guns, gas masks, and ammunition. Whilst the wrecks themselves are encrusted with corals, you can still clearly see telegraphs, steering columns and mounted guns.
