The Emergency First Response Course: Primary Care (CPR) and Secondary Care (First Aid)
The Emergency First Response Course begins your preparedness in how to respond to medical emergencies.
Statistics show you are more likely to give first aid to someone you know than a stranger. When minutes count, you’ll be the person to give the necessary aid to a family member, dive buddy or co-workers, before Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrive.
Our Emergency First Response Course is serious, but taught in a positive, upbeat environment with some great simulated scenarios and more.
Here’s what you’ll learn in Your PADI EFR Course:
BLS (Basic Life Support) CPR and rescue breathing at the layperson level
AED (automated external defibrillator) use (optional)
Preventing and caring for shock
Spinal injury management
Use of barriers to reduce disease transmission risk
Basic first aid: Illness & Injury Assessment, Bandaging, Management of fractures & dislocations, and first aid kit considerations
Additional Details
This course is a prerequisite for PADI Rescue Diver and PADI Divemaster. Every active Diver should consider having First Aid Training.
