Additional Details
This course is for the experienced wreck diver looking at branching off into a more advanced form of wreck diving, exploring more remote areas, tighter restrictions and a new approach to equipment configuration and harness options.
Sidemount Diving is best categorized into 2 groups, Exploration or Lifestyle as said by Sidemount Cave Diving Pioneer Lamar Hires. From an Exploration point of view, sidemount diving is the only option for divers diving in remote areas where double tanks are not available. It is also beneficial to divers who are exploring new sites without knowledge of what lies "just ahead". The Lifestyle aspect of Sidemount diving is that it becomes a way of life for many divers who can't or choose not to dive backmounted cylinders for many different reasons.
Sidemount Diving requires more discipline and requires total self reliance in an emergency, especially since the Sidemount Diver is diving independent gas cylinders.
