There is nothing in diving like experiencing a great shipwreck underwater and Canada offers the BEST Wreck Diving in the World! Over 20'000 shipwrecks litter the bottom of the Great Lakes, Rivers and Bays. In order to explore shipwrecks special training is needed, just like special training is required for any advanced form of diving.
During your PADI Wreck Course you will begin to see the need for specialized equipment, techniques and procedures not taught in the basic courses. Divers will complete a class session, watch the PADI Wreck Diving Video and complete minimum of 4 dives on Enriched Air Nitrox over 2 days. Divers will be diving a modern equipment configuration slightly different than the "traditional recreational setup". Check out our NTEC configuration for more details.
Students will learn about hazards of wreck diving, use of lights, use of a guideline, reel handling techniques, using gas reserves, redundant equipment, anti silting kicks, use of a 7ft hose and much more, Limited-visibility diving techniques and emergency procedures.
